About the Viet Pride Scholarship
The Viet Pride Scholarship (VPS) was created in 2013 to empower disadvantaged LGBT youth through providing assistance for them to obtain vocational training or a college degree. By identifying and supporting young LGBT in need and with potential to become change agents, VPS hopes that they will not only have better access to opportunities, give back to the community, but also carry on and multiply the inspiration for other LGBT individuals.
What VPS does
Scholarship funding: VPS provides direct financial contribution toward the cost of attending educational institutions.
Mentorship: VPS links scholarship recipients with donors who serve as exemplary role models for the recipients and advise on professional career decisions.

Donation & mentorship
VPS seeks the partnership of philanthropic individuals, corporations, and foundations to supply financial support and professional guidance for VPS applicants and recipients.
Each scholarship, as of 2015, ranges from $800 to $1,000. Donation can be full or partial of one scholarship, and there is no minimum set. Additionally, VPS believes in honouring the donors who are investing in the future. Therefore, VPS honours the donors, if they so choose, by creating a legacy named after themselves, or as a memorial for a loved one*. This arrangement ensures their personal idenfitication with scholars and with the mission of VPS in perpetuity.
